Across Stress Awareness Month, we have been sharing some of our top tips with you for combatting stress. While that is important, it is also equally necessary to try and combat things that happen before experiencing stress that can lead to it, such as burnout.

Burnout levels continue to rise throughout the pandemic, and if left untreated can lead to more serious issues like stress and depression. So – here are some of our top HIVE HACKS to help you manage pandemic burnout.

Find the cause

Whether it’s being isolated from your friends or too much screen time, once you have identified the cause(s) of your burnout, you can take the appropriate steps to try and overcome it and make the necessary changes to your habits.

Make the right changes

An early pandemic routine you established may not best serve you now. Having the same routine for a long time can feel monotonous and stale. Try and shake up small aspects of your day.

Look ahead

With the vaccine rollout underway, it’s easier to look ahead to the future with some light at the end of the tunnel. Within reason, make plans (or at least begin to plan) so that you have something to look forward to.

Rest and recuperate

Sleep is essential for positive mental and physical wellbeing, but sleeping isn’t actually the only way to rest. Switching off after work, meditating, or going for a walk to eliminate screen time can all contribute to healthy wellbeing.

Talk it out

If left untreated, burnout can lead to stress and depression. If you’re struggling, speak to a mental health professional who can offer you clear support and guidance.
